Is your dog due for a groom? With Yappy Bubbles’ Dog Grooming FAQs, prepping your dog before your appointment is a breeze!
All our grooming packages (apart from Bath and Blow Dry) include the following pampering treats for your pup:
- A warm bubble bath with a gentle shampoo
- A thorough blow dry to remove excess moisture and prevent matting
- A full body brush out to remove loose hair and dirt
- Hygiene area trim for comfort and cleanliness
- Feet tidy up for a polished look
We understand that mats can happen sometimes, even with regular brushing. If your dog arrives for their appointment with matted fur, we will do our best to remove them safely and comfortably. However, heavily matted coats can take significantly longer to groom and may require a shaving process to remove them completely.
To be fair to all our scheduled appointments, additional charges may apply for excessive matting.
Here are some tips to avoid matting:
- Brush your dog regularly according to their coat type.
- Ask us about the best brushes for your dog’s fur during your next appointment.
- Schedule regular grooming appointments to maintain a healthy coat and prevent matting.
This depends on your dog’s breed and coat type. Generally, we recommend a schedule of every 6-8 weeks for a full groom. If your dog has a particularly thick or difficult-to-manage coat, a bath and tidy halfway between grooms (every 3-4 weeks) can help keep them mat-free and smelling fresh.
Grooming times vary depending on the size of the dog, the complexity of the haircut, and the dog’s behavior. Generally, it takes 2-4 hours for a full groom and 1-2 hours for a bath and blow dry.

At Yappy Bubbles, we promote responsible pet ownership. This includes keeping your dog’s vaccinations current. Vaccinations like kennel cough and parvovirus help protect your dog from preventable illnesses, especially in social settings like our grooming salon.
Take your dog for a good walk or playtime beforehand to help them expend some energy. Withhold food for 2-3 hours before the appointment to avoid any accidents during grooming. Brush out any mats from your dog’s fur if possible. Let us know of any pre-existing health conditions or behavioral concerns your dog may have.
For safety reasons, we prefer that you don’t stay while your dog is groomed. A dog’s parent’s presence can sometimes make them anxious or restless during grooming. We’re happy to answer any questions you may have and provide updates on your dog’s progress throughout the appointment.
